Week of November 23 – 29

On Monday, I had a translation midterm &.... Ummmm … Let’s not talk about it :x Tuesday, school -- > Inés. Wednesday – No work, again :/ Thursday was Thanksgiving !! K. and I decided to attend the MICEFA Thanksgiving “get together” which we thought was a dinner but instead we were served salami, seltzer water, and champagne :x :D … Though, it wasn’t as bad as it sounds. The champagne made up for the lack of food.
We ended up going out for dinner which WAS BAD !! The waiter was soo rude !! These people need customer service training.
It was def. not an American Thanksgiving but then again we’re in France! That night, Erin, Michael, K., & I ended up in Miller’s for beer J I wouldn’t say it was a HAPPY Thanksgiving more like a Different Thanksgiving.
Saturday was Yana and Katrina’s Birthday Extravaganza at Carpe Diem. (+ it was Marianna's Bday too !! )

Reservations were made but I felt like we were being thrown downstairs J …VIP in Paris is NOT the same as VIP in NYC but it was comfortable and we had our own little area which was cool.

Sunday, Salon des Vins !! Wine tastings!!! I’m not sure if it’s an annual event or it happens various times throughout the year but it was sooo cool. The entrance wasn’t free. Students have to pay 3 Euros but you definitely drink more than 3 Euros worth of GOOD wine, champagne and even Cognac + they give you a free wine glass!!
At the event, there were about 1900 different wines/champagnes/cognacs. Basically, you go around with your wine glass sipping/tasting the beverages. It was kind of overwhelming. It’s kind of like a whole day event or an event you have to go and come back to.
I bought 4 different bottles of wine 3 to take home and 1 for ME J … but I wish I could have carried more. The French come with their suitcases/carry ons to this event which we thought was ridiculous but by the end of the day it was actually pretty smart by arms were killing me !!!

"Hard Core Fans !!"

11/18/2009 was the premiere of New Moon in Paris !!!

Like the hard core fan I am, I arrived 3 hours before the movie started !! :)

The theatre was extremely wide, it seats 400 ppl !! Other than that there wasn't really anything spectacular... just a wide NYC theatre with French ppl in it ...

Thank G. it played in English ! I don't think I would of been able to watch it in French... I hate subtitles ...I feel bad for the French ... Subtitles dont translate the same !!!

Tickets were 7,70 for students but for some reason we paid 6 euros each ... I dont really understand what I said or what the vendor said but I know I got a discount !

Overall, I give the movie 2 1/2 stars out of 5 ... it just doesnt live up to the book, not even with Dakota Fanning in it :(

Its been an "okay" week ... School + I started working ---> watching an 11 yr with pre-teen French tude :x she's a sweetheart but sometimes ... mmmm

We made Christmas paper bubbles on Wed. that was kool & in 2 weds. we are working on a scrap book <3>

I can't wait for Spain !!! Everything has been reserved !!! Seville- Madrid- Barcelona !! Here I come !!!

Pizza Pizza!!

En vendredi, Vanessa, Katrina, and I went out for Aoife 21st bday :) The Irish Girls are soo cool ... I love their accent ... We went to this really cute bar, Barcurieux Spaghetti Bar, around the Centre Pompidou for Happy Hour. I loved it !! They change the wallpaper all the time to keep it "fresh" and they have chandeliers !!!

I was sooo hungry, I kind of "scarfed down" the pizza ... even the fishy topping one :x

Hier, it was the "debut" of Jimmy Choo at H & M !!!

But unfortunately I didn't get to buy anything because we had to be there before 8 in the morning to get a ticket and we got there around 10. At 12, the section was open for "the public" but it was like a war zone!!

I got talked out of buying a travel bag by this bitchy french lady ...qui grabbed Katrina's arm cause she thought Katrina was going to take the bag from her ...ugh I shouldn't of given it to her !!! I was trying to be nice ... next time I won't be!!
But I'm glad I didn't buy it though ... it was 199 euros and I didn't love it ...liked it but didn't love it ...

Then, again, I had pizza for dinner :( I'm never going fit into my bday dress ...

It took me a long time but I'm finally going to write my first parisienne entry <3
I've been living in France since Aug. 28, 2009 & its definitely been an adventure... I've met some really great ppl & some not really great ppl ... "mais, C'est la vie" ... life just works that way everywhere you go ...
Paris and I have a sort of love/hate relationship ... Sometimes I love it and sometimes I hate it ... Ever since I've been here, though, I've learned how to do my own laundry, cook, & live on my own... which believe it or not for me its a pretty big accomplishment bc I've never lived on my own before nor have I ever attempted to feed myself anything other than microwaved food ...
I visited the Eiffel Tour for the first since I've arrived, on October 26, 2009, ... but I didn't stay long ... there were rats in the nearby park :( & I was a bit disappointed ... It wasn't as big as I remembered, in April 2004, but then again neither is Paris ... In one month I've managed to get fired (for getting lost) & piss of my French professor

So, Today I start recording a new chapter ... My real Parisienne chapter ...
